Happy birthday to us! This month, ‘Simulator Saturday’ is one year old!
For the past year, volunteers at the Aviation Museum of N.H. have made our Elite Flight Simulator available to visitors every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
During that time, we’ve helped hundreds of would-be aviators experience what it’s like to pilot an aircraft through takeoff, flight, and (hopefully) landing.
Many thanks to the many members of the Aviation Museum community who’ve worked to make this possible. Special thanks to volunteer Gary Johnson, our “Chief Sim Guy,” who has coordinated training so more volunteers are qualified to lead guests on simulated flights.
Special thanks also to volunteers Jay Carter, Steve Heffelfinger, and Chris Lippincott for keeping the flight simulator in good working order during periods of heavy usage throughout the past 12 months.
‘Simulator Saturday’ takes place every Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Aviation Museum. Each flight is about 10 minutes long; use is on a first-come, first-served basis. Simulator use is included in Aviation Museum admission. The flight simulator is intended for pilots age 13 and above.
Extra simulator time: During the upcoming holiday school break, the Aviation Museum will be open on Monday, Dec. 29 and Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Our Flight Simulator will be up and running throughout both days to give visitors a chance to experience the wonder of (simulated) flight.
Simulator use is included with museum admission. Bring the whole family and cheer each other on and you “fly the pattern,” while safely on the ground the whole time.
As we begin our second year of regularly scheduled access to the public…see you at the simulator!

Sim log October 2025: Operation Birthday Party

Want to experience flight without leaving the ground? Our Elite Flight Simulator continues to draw visitors to the Aviation Museum of N.H., as seen how popular it was during a recent birthday party.
If you’d like to try your hand on the simulator, stop by the museum for ‘Simulator Saturday,’ when the flight simulator is running and staffed by knowledgeable docents to help guide.
‘Simulator Saturday’ runs from 1 to 4 p.m., when the the simulator will be open to the public. Use of the flight simulator is included with museum admission, is first-come first-served, and is suitable for future pilots age 13 and up only.
Below, check out more photos from the party. Happy birthday to McKenna, age 2! We were delighted to welcome you and your family and friends to the museum for a recent visit!

Sim log archive: Simulator as part of museum’s summer camp program…
The Aviation Museum’s Elite Flight Simulator saw heavy use during our 2025 ‘Flights of Discovery’ summer camp program.

Participants in the Aviation Museum’s ‘Flights of Discovery’ summer camp program spent some quality time last August on our Elite Flight Simulator, putting into practice what they’ve learned about flying.
Many thanks to volunteers Chuck Poltack, Chris Lippincott, and Norm Beaudette for coaching students on the simulator, and for all volunteers who’ve pitched in to make this year’s camp sessions memorable and fun.
