A different kind of plane-building project…

A gingerbread biplane decorated in Farmington ‘Flying Tiger’ colors.

At Farmington High School, the plane they’re building is made of aluminum. But it’s the holiday season, so why not build one made from…gingerbread?

That’s what Aviation Museum volunteers did, and the results were presented to Farmington High students and mentors during a brief holiday ceremony held Monday, Dec. 8 prior to the day’s workshop period.

The gingerbread biplane, decorated in Farmington ‘Flying Tiger’ colors, will lend a boost of holiday season inspiration to the workshop.

In addition, to thank students and mentors participating in the program, each was given an individual (and undecorated) set of custom-made cookies that can be assembled into their own gingerbread biplane.

And that’s not all! For a full account of the celebration, check out our ‘Farmington Flying Tigers Plane-Build‘ page.
