Collection of Northeast Airlines memorabilia donated to Aviation Museum

Vanessa Bray examines a copy of the Boston Globe announcing the 1972 merger of Northeast Airlines with Delta Air Lines.

In 1969, at age 20 Vanessa Bray signed on as a flight attendant for Boston-based Northeast Airlines.

This launched a career that would span 51 years of continuous service, first to Northeast and then to Delta Air Lines, from which she retired in 2020.

This November, Ms. Bray reached out to the Aviation Museum of N.H. to donate an incredible collection of airline and aviation memorabilia, much of it from the very early years of her career with Northeast Airlines.

The collection includes numerous examples of Northeast Airlines employee manuals, bid documents, internal correspondence, newsletters, vintage travel brochures, and more. In addition, Bray donated flight attendant uniforms from early in her career that bring to life an era before deregulation when airlines competed not on price but on service.
