On Wednesday, Oct. 8, Richard ‘Dick’ VanGrunsven visited the new ‘Flying Tigers’ plane-building workshop at Farmington (N.H.) High School. VanGrunsven, who founded Van’s Aircraft Co. and designed the RV-12iS used in plane-building partnerships, met with students, volunteer mentors, and faculty to see how his kit-based aircraft are being used for educational purposes.
VanGrunsven will visit student plane-building workshops tomorrow in Lebanon and Manchester, N.H, and will then serve as Guest of Honor at the Aviation Museum’s Gala on Friday, Oct. 10. For more info on the Farmington visit, check out our ‘Flying Tiger’ web page.
