Hundreds of families greeted Santa Claus as he arrived by helicopter at the Aviation Museum on Saturday, Dec. 14.
St. Nick, himself a skilled aviator, spent two hours at the museum meeting all his fans and taking last-minute requests.
He then departed for his next appointment via fire truck courtesy the Manchester Airport Fire Department.
Santa’s visit this year was sponsored by the Common Man Roadside, which provided complimentary hot chocolate, coffee, donuts, and holiday cookies, and also C.R. Helicopters of Nashua, Business NH Magazine, and Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
Santa also collected letters to take back to the North Pole. He’ll visit again on Christmas Eve, although for that trip he’ll have Rudolph and the eight other reindeer with him.
Below are all images taken by our photographer Steve Heffelfinger during Santa’s visit. They can be downloaded by right-clicking on the image and then saving it to your device.
Please note that we weren’t able to get pictures of each and every visitor. We’re sorry if our photos don’t include you or your loved ones—it wasn’t intentional!
You’ll also see that Santa’s visit was big news—it made the front page of this morning’s New Hampshire Union Leader.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays from all of us here at the Aviation Museum!
