Museum front entrance gains granite bench

Education Director Nathaniel MacDonald and volunteer Bill MacMillan guide the sitting part of a granite bench off the back of Bill’s truck.

If the Aviation Museum is in need of bench strength, then we got a healthy dose of it on Thursday, Sept. 5 in the form of a beautiful granite bench installed adjacent to landscaping outside our front door.

The bench, donated by Bill and Jane MacMillan of Manchester, will provide a private perch to visitors that just happens to be a prime plane-watching spot.

Bill, a longtime museum volunteer, installed the bench with help of Education Director Nathaniel MacDonald, and was also the first to try it out. Upon sitting down, the verdict was thumbs up!

Thanks to the MacMillans for this remarkable gesture that will help visitors enjoy our grounds for many years to come!
